Duby Tal

Duby Tal has carved out a place for himself within the photography world with his stunning aerial shots. Accompanied by pilot Moni Haramati, Tal sets out to capture an Israel that is rarely seen from hundreds to thousands of feet in the air. His unique vision of the world around him and the beauty that it provides harks back to a time before our own history. In his own words, "As a landscape photographer I seek pure direct contact with Acts of Genesis that have not yet been redesigned by human hands."

Tal was born in Israel in 1955 and when he was of age, entered into the Israeli Air Force. Here, he was a helicopter pilot and this is where he developed his taste for observing his Israel from the air. After serving, Tal turned his eyes towards Geology and Photography studies achieving a BS and a MS in Geology. He took this passion for the Earth and its formations to the point of being accepted for a PhD in Geophysics at Stanford University, but decided that his professional calling was in aerial photography. Following this, he founded Albatross with Haramati and this venture produces multimedia projects that focus on aerial landscape and documentary photography.

Duby Tal has published multiple books of his work in the Skyline series and his unique photographic eye can be seen in multiple projects, ranging from magazines to film. In 1992 and 1996, he was awarded Photographer of the Year by the Israel Photographers Association. His work has been shown in more than 20 exhibitions both in Israel and worldwide.
