Artist Statement
After thirty-seven years of hard work at photography dedicated to expressing the beauty of nature, and thirty years spent in the pursuit of perfection in color photographic print making, it has recently become both possible and practical to make original color photographic prints of superb quality, which are highly reflective of my artistic intent, and which are also several times more permanent on display than all traditional color prints, including Ilfochrome and the best chromogenic processes.
Color photography has come of age as an art form, rivaling the finest painting and exceeding the standards set by the finest traditional black & white photography, thanks in large part to stunning advances in the many technologies of modern imaging. The many destructive vagueries, flavors and limitations of chemical processes need no longer impose themselves onto one's photographs. The intelligence and flexibility of digital processes make it possible to reveal both the truth of a scene and one's artistic intent far better than ever before.
